Finally, we'll leave an opportunity for you to ask any questions about anything you might still be curious about.

These next few questions provide an opportunity for you to share why you feel called to participate in extensive leadership classes that are limited to a certain number of students every year.
The President's Leadership Program (PLP) aims to develop civic leaders who engage in inclusive, ethical leadership and embody humanitarian characteristics, such as optimism, service to others, passion, mindfulness, and fairness.

Please choose one of the humanitarian characteristics listed (optimism, service to others, passion, mindfulness, or fairness). In your opinion, why is this characteristic important in your development as a leader?
PLP is committed to long-term development of students within a service-learning classroom experience. Each academic year, students apply to the different levels of the program. Incoming first-year students are only eligible to apply to the first course of the program, called A Call to Lead. In this class, we introduce communication and community-focused theories that provide a framework for students to fully engage with others as we tackle complicated issues.

It is an expectation that students who accept their position within PLP commit to establishing a community that fosters learning, understanding, and reflection.

Please tell us why you are interested in participating in a program like this and what role you tend to play in similar learning environments. If you have never experienced a learning community as we have described, tell us how you hope to present yourself in this type of environment.
After checking our website (plp.colostate.edu) and learning a little more about PLP, what are you still curious about?
Thank you for taking the time to complete this application! We are very excited about your interest in the President's Leadership Program.

Don't forget to click next and submit on the next page!

Going into our 30th year this next academic year, we have collected countless stories of how lessons have followed students into their professional careers. We believe in this program's ability to support students (and alumni) in their leadership journeys, while also offering challenging views that allow us to create new perspectives (when necessary).

We will be in contact (usually within 2 weeks) to set up a conversation where we can further get to know each other through the process.

If you have questions, feel free to contact SLICE_PLP@colostate.edu.
