About
The goal of the CSU Disc Golf Club is to introduce new players to the sport, help advance recreational players into competitive players and to give advanced players the opportunity to achieve their goals.
Competitive disc golf is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Colorado State University is home to the first collegiate disc golf club in the state of Colorado. Our club consists of beginners, advanced, and pro players showing that all are welcome. The goal of the CSU Disc Golf Club is to introduce new players to the sport, help adcance recreational players into competitive players and to give advanced players the opportunity to achieve their goals.
Disc golf is not the most physically demanding sport, but it takes a great deal of technique and mental focus to become a great player. We welcome people of all shapes, sizes, and skill levels. CSU disc golf is very much an individual sport as well as a team sport. Most competitions are performed as a group of individual players, meaning that your individual score affects the team’s overall competition score. However there has been a recent push in collegiate disc golf to promote team play through the implementation of collegiate doubles which we will be practicing throughout the year.
In 2012, the Men’s CSU Disc Golf Team took 1st place out of 40 teams at the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships! A championship is the goal however fostering a fun, athletic and competitive environment is the key to club longevity and success.
